Without changing key?
Hi all.
Can I slow down a tune without changing it’s key, or losing quality using N?
Cheers
Craig
Hi Craig, to my knowledge, No.
I have tried by using 1.00x settings and transpose buttons (manually tuning it back in), but the quality went belly up.
Maybe an outside app can.

Not with N I'm afraid. That "other" DAW I ain't supposed to mention does a fantastic job of this though. I use it for such things ALL the time. It was recently upgraded to use Elastique Pro V2 for time/pitch shift stuff and works beautifully for time and/or pitch shifting.
I think I'll pop this into the V6 feature request thread. n-Track needs a better algorithm for this... It is amazingly useful in a lot of ways.

There is an early version of Cool Edit (Cool Edit '96) that includes a Stretch command that can do this quite well. This particular version was originally released as shareware but has been abandoned, nonetheless it is still very useful.
COOL EDIT 96 at HammerHead
In its current configuration it will only allow you to use two features at once, so Stretch and Save would be the obvious choices. However, with a bit of googling you can find the codes to remove all restrictions.
I wouldn’t normally suggest that but, as I said, the product has been abandoned so you aren’t ‘stealing’ from anyone - you couldn’t buy codes for it from its manufacturer if you wanted to.
Hhhm used to have cool edit on my last laptop. Completely forgot about it.
Thanks chaps.
