Sound Forge Plug-ins

When using N-Tracks (latest non-beta version) the plug-ins from my Sound Forge 8 registered software show up in the mixer when I go to add effects. However, some open in ‘demo’ mode. When opened in SoundForge, the same plug-ins DO NOT open in demo.

Any thoughts?

Some of them are probably licensed or “keyed” to only operate in Sound Forge. Standard VST and DX plugins should work unless Sony has them blocked out. By the way, that sounds like something Sony would do…

I checked a few of the plug-ins and they all worked for me (build 2472). Can you list some that you are having trouble with and I’ll try them. Did they wark with other versions of n_track? What build of n-track are you using? Have you tried running the utilities that Sony has supplied to “register” (that means install to them) the software? Have you tried moving to Sound Forge with the n_Track expernal editor command?

They all used to work.

I had to ‘reset to default’ all the n-track settings a while back. I’ll bet that had something to do with it.

The Sony “Simple delay” is one that now doesn’t work. The Sony Express effects all work. Looks like the regular Sony plug-ins all are in ‘demo’ mode in N-tracks.

Yes, I have used the Sony “Register” of plug-ins.

N-Track version is 2461 (feb 26).

Michael,

Did you possibly install a trial or free version of any other Sony software? I recently installed trial versions of the latest versions of Acid and Sound Forge Studio.
My trusty old Sound Forge 5.0 (pre-Sony Sonic Foundry version) has been on my computer for years with no problems, but, after removing the 2 trial programs, my Sound Forge plug-ins now work only in “demo” mode with the beeps in n-Track , even on old n-Track files.
I had this happen once before and I had to reinstall Sound Forge.
I guess I’ll have to do it again if I can find my original disc and serial numbers. This could be your problem.

HTH,
