Telecaster HMT

Anyone seen one IRL?

Just recently been looking for a new acoustic for playing live with. As a wussy electric player I get frustrated when my fingers won’t keep up with my mind on some “lead brakes” etc on the old acoustic. So I’ve been looking at the “hybrid” style guitars - you know - half way between an acoustic and electric.

There’s plenty to chose from but the Fender HMT Telecaster really caught my eye (HMT means Heavy Metal Telecaster - a real oxymoron IMO). Anyway they are not made anymore and very rarely come up. Here’s a couple:

Has anyone ever seen/heard/played one in real life? Any comments gratefully received.

Current budget:
£0, $0, 0, 0, 0 but when I find one I’ll figure out some way…

Cheers

Nice looking little thing - never heard one though Mark.

If I remember, Zane at Legend Guitars manufactured a couple similar to that guitar… It had a LipStick Pick-up in the neck position and a Piezo bridge saddle and preamp setup…
with a 5-way selector switch…
I remember wiring a couple of guitars like that…
I don’t know where they ended up…
They were made for “Front Guys” on Country Music Stages…
with wireless transmitters…

Well…
