Cool and an ever so slightly Eno lyric - always a good thing.

Very upbeat song, I love the flanged guitar and the keys, very unique and original song

:)

Hi GeoffO:

The tracks are well recorded and very creative…
The editing, mix and post work makes it all come together…

You live very close to where my Uncle once lived…
North Oxford, MA …

Bill…

Thanks you guys!
I used alot of N v. 6 features in this one- the reverse ghosting in multitap delay on guitar in the middle section, and Ntrack strings “night swell” feature for the synth part, and Ntrack vocals for the vocals.
I tried using Ndrums like I normally do but it just wasn’t happening, so the drums suffered.
Lately I’ve been recording my old cassette tapes into Ntrack. I had this one audio tape of a celebration from the night before I left the village. The drums were all clipped from the recording but I was able to get 90 minutes of the atmosphere that night.
Yep, Bill, right next door!

These other fellas will LIE to you GeoffO… I’m an ass-hole, so I won’t.

The whole thing is ‘gimmicky’… sounds like a poorly done song for a no budget, cable access, kid’s TV show. (Maybe that’s what it is?)

The vocal phrasing gets ‘off’ in several places not to mention off pitch.

Get rid of the gimmicky effects which are over done and distracting.

Re-do the vocals… or get someone else to sing them.

Hey UJ.
I appreciate your honesty, that’s all cool. But I don’t want to speculate on whether other people’s opinions are dishonest.
I’m just a hack at this stuff. I’m a home-recording hobbyist. Just an amateur. Could parts like vocals be done better by someone else- sure- I’d say by practically anyone! I’m not writing this for anyone or anything. This was just a light-hearted song I’d been meaning to write for a while. Most of the time, I just write songs to cheer myself up.
I’ll take another look at the effects, I’ve been known to overdue them before. Which ones are you referring to?

I’d say Quirky rather than Gimmicky, the song doesn’t demand a great vocal performance. Plenty of alleged ‘Stars’ get away with less. It’s different and therefore interesting… :agree:

that was great… your stuff is diferent enough to make it very entertaning listening
sure the vocal could have been better but in a way it added to the songs charm

Ah shucks, too kind…I’d redo the vocals if I could do’m better but that’s as good as they get for me. Tony, I’ll have to look into Eno’s lyrics like you were saying before.
