Using nanoKontroller2

As I mentioned in another post, I’ve been struggling to get my nanoKontroller2 to play nicely with n-Track. I assumed it would just be a case of using MIDI Learn on the transport controls, but e.g. the default Play assignment (Toggle playback) results in it starting and stopping a second or two of playback repeatedly. So I assigned it Play/Stop and it almost works as expected, except that it plays a couple of seconds, resets to where it was and then plays normally. Also, I’m assuming this is also related - the more I use the nanoKontroller2 buttons, the less responsive n-Track becomes, where I’ll start it, the play cursor does not move but it will actually start playing the tracks audibly. After pressing Stop and Rewind (which I have assigned Rewind to 0), it usually starts behaving as expected.

I’ve tried various things, such as installing the Korg drivers but when these are active, n-Track does not even recognise the nanoController2 as a MIDI device. I’ve also tried starting up the nanoController2 in DAW mode (as opposed to CC mode), but this just results in the buttons playing notes

Are there any instructions on how to use the nanoKontroller2 with n-Track?

TIA

Ian.

Hi Ian,

there is a preset configuration for the nanoKontrol, you can select it clicking on the “Choose preset” button in the Settings → MIDI faders/control setup box, does that work for you?
We have an old nanoKontrol2 that I’ve just discovered has a broken connector. I’ll test with it as soon as that’s repaired in the next few days.

Hi Flavio

Many thanks for the reply - I hadn’t noticed the preset, now I’ve selected it the nanoKontroller2 seems to be working exactly as expected :slightly_smiling_face:
