Version recommendation

I am trying to set up my laptop for using n-track, as my wife is complaining about me overtaking our desktop. I am planning on using an older version of n-track…Any suggestions on which build? My laptop is a Compaq presario 700 with an AMD Duron processor running at 697 MHZ
it has 240 mb of ram and a 16 gig hard drive. Windows XP…
Thanks for any help you can offer or experiences you’ve had…I will also be using an m-audio USB fast track as my soundcard-interface…thanks again

Hi ,I use a very old version Ver 2.3 on an 800Mhz celeron and for me it works very well. Its the second oldest one on the old downloads page.

My PIII 500 Mhz IBM desktop with 256 Meg of RAM, 20 gig HDD ran version 3.3 fine.

Hi:
I think if you could find a 1980 build… You may be in good shape… I’m not sure of the Version … But if you look, I think you’ll find that one posted up there…

Bill…

[EDIT]
I have build 2042 working just fine on a P-111 1.2 mhz. 512 meg. XP Desk… DAW… But ya gotta have .netframwork 2.2 installed… The BIG Download should contain all the necessary files, needed to install it… It’s a 30 meg. download.

Mr. Bill,

Have you sorted out all your computer woes? With the PIII and build 2042, do you record strictly 16 bit or are you messing with 24 bit?

Doug

Hi Doug:
It has recoverd… somewhat… The issues I had and build was installing 2042 on the '98SE partitions of the Studio computers… The XP partitions up-graded to 2042 with no issues…

I licked my wounds and reverted back to build 2037 on the '98SE partitions… However, the day I ran into the install issues… I was stuck… I wasn’t able to revert back to build 2037 on that day… I have no knowledge to explain why… but after letting the dust settle for a few days …and when I attempted the re-install again I am now at build 2037 on the '98SE Desks and at build 2042 on the XP desks…

I haven’t done any tracks sessions sense… But any tracks that I was working with seem to work just fine with both XP and '98SE desks.

I have downloaded v 4.1.6 build 2044 and I have that build on my Editing machine… It appears to run just fine and with no issues… so far… All with the current project I’m working with…

The only desks I can track 24-bit .wav files with is… with the P-111 '98SE desk and the XP partition of the same P-111… I have a tracking issue with the P-4, and '98SE desk… at the moment… That is the machine that the Lexicon Core-32 hardware resides… on… I am able to repro with that hardware… but I am unable to track with that hardware… Some small issue that I’m unabe to see through… That Lexicon Core hardware has very Flakey Drivers… When they work, there is no issues and the set-up works flawlessly… but only with '98SE as it’s Desk…

I’m running ver 3.3 with no problems. Works great, sounds great!
