VST only applies to left channel

Can only get effects on the left channel

When I do my recording into the line in only the left channel gets signal so I use “Windows L” setting to record into N-Track, but it records fine and it records to left and right. When I see the recorded wave file it is indeed a left and right that are equal, however when I try to use a VST the VST is only applying to the LEFT channel. So out of my left channel comes the affected signal and the pure comes out of the right channel. I have no option to record MONO into N-Track, only “Stereo” or “Stereo-Two Mono Inputs”. Anyone have any ideas how I can just record a single mono signal into N-Track (So there’s no left and right waves, just one big wave) or at least make the VST apply to both sides? Thanks in advance for any advice!

You can apply VST to each track. You can also clone the track and then apply effect. You can also disable "Expand track to stereo" to get a simple wave file.

What hardware are you using to record? We may be more help with that info

It's just one track that has a left and right wave so I can't figure out how to get the VST to apply to both sides. It only affects the sound coming from the left. I also did a mixdown to see what would happen and indeed the left channel wave was affected, but not the right. Where is the "Expand Track to Stereo" option located?

I'm using an Auzentech Prelude soundcard to record and the line-in. I just used a wave editor and turned the file into a mono file. However when I put on the VST it's still only affecting the signal on the left side for some reason so I'm really confused now.

I was just trying different things and I clicked on the “Monitor Live Input” button and turned it on. (I must have turned it off earlier on accident). That actually worked somehow.

And… now it’s not working again. :( Arrgh!

The option for recording mono tracks is just that "stereo > two mono tracks". You check that first.

Then.. before you record you press the red button in recording meter. There you choose if the left channel either records to new track (or not) and if the right channel records to new track (or not).
