To post n-Track v5
Here I am… Du-Da Du-Da… DUM… lol…
Well. I’m playing with n-Track Drummer… Just seeing how IT works, and all… Looking at the read-me files and making drum sounds.
I see there are “Extra” drum samples posted up here… So… I’m downloading the extra samples tonight. The one file I’m downloading has a file size of some 36 megs…
Anyway, I have this Telephone Wire-and-Modem…
Here I am… Du-Da Du-Da… DUM… lol…
Bill…
[EDIT]
I see, as well, there is a “Drum Trigger” utility with n-Track Drummer… This is worth investigating…
Geez Bill… If I ever get rich (don’t hold yer breath) I am gonna buy you a T1 connection right to your house and/or studio. You have suffered analog modem disease long enough…

Hi Diogenes:
When you go to the Extra Drum Sample page it looks like there’s only one zipped file of drum samples. But before you get to that page it looks there there might be two files available to download. If there are two files available, then they are both 21 meg. in size. I started to download the second file and then stopped the download. I don’t want to take the time to download a repeat file if that’s the case. Can someone confirm that there is two separate files available for download? When I unpacked the file it expands to some 76.5 meg worth of samples. But the download page says that the file is ~21 meg. in size. If I had a faster Internet connection I’d download the files and check… It’s just that I have to spend some 4-5 hours to get the files to start with.
You see… Around here they want to sell you a connection package… It includes a telephone, computer and TV service. It could run to anywhere up to 150.00 a month. That’s a respectable bucket full of loonies, per year… The waiting time to get it installed could be some 2-3 weeks… But If you decide it’s not what you want the waiting time to get it removed could be up to 6 weeks… So, what happens when the owner requests to have it removed they pay for the service till the operator sends out the service man to disconnect it… One the other hand the owner just pulls the wire off the house and calls the operator to come out and clean up the mess as, it’s a safety hazard, on the street.
With that amount of loonies, I could buy a few audio toys every year… I have to rise above the justification of spending that amount of Coin to have a high speed cybre connection…
Mabey, some day…
… who knows?? Right now, I pay 100.00 a year to connect to the server by the phone wire with a modem… The connection speed varies between 2.2 and 4.5 kbs. per second… I’ve seen it higher than that and I’ve seen it slower, as well…
Bill…
Hi Bill!
Where is the drum sample page you mentioned? I can’t even find anything about the plugin on the N web site. You must know your way around the site well!

Hi nocents:
I never expected to see the bata version that Flavio posted yesterday, as soon as he did… Thank you Flavio, for your hard work on getting this v5 going…
Now that I’m working with build 2116 and v5 of n-Track Trying to navigate the menus is somewhat different than build 2099… However, I found the menu and navigated to the link and here is the "More Drums link on the FASoft Page…
More drum samples
You’re right, I never knew how to find some of these links that Flavio has posted on his pages… He’s got so much stuff up on his space that you gotta think Italian to to be able to navigate and see all the stuff he has up here…
It’s difficult for me to describe how to find this link but basically, it’s under the drop-down of “Add channel”… Start there and begin to “Mouse around”… You’ll find it… It looks like there’s just one file but somehow I think there are two zipped files available for download. But, being on a modem over here would be a killer for me to download the second link, only to find it’s the same file. If you could, have a peak around and download all you can find to confirm that two files are there… Then I’ll spend the time and download the second one…
gentlemen… This drummer is beautiful… The “voices” are great, and it ain’t that hard to navigate around it… if I can find out how to make it work, I think I can make some TUB Tracks with it… I find that reading the manual doesn’t do anything for me. I gotta just play with something till i get it doing what I think I want do with it… I mean, if you’re really stuck , the manual can get ya outta the “woods”… But… I want to learn how to make separate/individual tracks with it… as opposed to producing a two-track mix… I hope I’ll be able to find out how to make that happen…
There’s so much I think I’d like to learn… I hope the creativity that’s going on in my Grey matter doesn’t leave me before I’m done with all of this…
But… Guys… there is another way to use this n-Track drummer…
You can … and I stand corrected… The drummer has a Trigger utility attached to it… I’m trying to “Fathom” this out… If I can confirm and there actually is a trigger utility that can be programmed, and has the ability to edit your creativity, this will blow my socks off… It may not be as refined as the Drumulator I’m looking for but I’ll find that out… it might just take a little time… in time… We’ll see…
I think how I found out about this is… I downloaded and installed this part of the utility…
http://www.smartelectronix.com/~koen/ I found it on this page…
http://taeta.bravehost.com/plugins/midi_plugins.htm
You midi guys may be already at this place/there… However, there appears there is no end to what is going on up here, on the internet… You can lead a horse to water… but…
Bill…

Very funny Bill! Especially about needing to know Italian to navigate the site.
Thanks very much for your review and comments about the drum plugin. Now I'm really motivated to get started using this basically unadvertised feature included as part of the N track package.
Do you mean that its necessary to use the N track program menu itself to download those samples? You mentioned the "add channel" menu. If so its no wonder we never knew about it!
V5 looks interesting but I still see a lot of the same clunky behavior of the UI and graphics in general. I was really hoping that Flavio would address those issues once and for all. Other than extensive looping and midi editing N track has a great feature set and still allows for a simple approach to recording. However the UI/graphics problems detract from all of that. Hopefully this can still change since its still in beta.
