What do y'all think abou this?

This is the latest producer’manager news.
I resisted committing to this guy in order to evaluate him and his services.
Using a delay method, not rushing in but not obviously closing the door either.
This bought me enough time to check him out more throughly.
Why?
Because I’m new to Dallas and don’t know anyone, so everyone to me seems a little like they could be a con’man.

I noticed that when I asked him for references, he had a tendency to bypass that and try to move the conversation in a different direction.
I also called Alligator Records and received a phone call back from them within a week.
Giving me the information I needed.
He wasn’t an A&R rep for them but did pitch music to them and his main objective at Alligator was to have Alligator use his studio for Alligator artists in the Dallas area.
So he had a working relation ship in a way but it was very limited.
So he called himself an A&R rep, he wan’t one and Alligator hasn’t used his recording services.
He had no online presence, and few references.
So I just plesantly stalled until he went away.
While still leaving the door open to allow the option of working with him or using his studio in the future.
