What is "DSP thread priority"?

What exactly does it do?

What exactly does this mean? I don’t get it. You can choose 1, 2 or 3, and 3 is suppose to be the “highest”. But I would like to know what DSP is (is it effects) and what this priority setting does.

Thanks!

Digital Signal Processing. Suspect refers to plugins. I thought Priority 1 would be highest. Assumed also this would put more CPU rsources to the n-track application than other applications running at the same time. I have not needed to mess with this setting.

Okej, so it has nothing to do with in which order the audio signal pass thru volume, pan and effects? I off course want the effects to apply before the volume and pan.
