Comfort

Hi folks - I have not been doing much lately - some of you know that I lost a son last week in a tragic senseless accident. Thanks so much to those of you who have sent emails.

This is one of the tough ones, but I’m doing fine. Nathan’s struggle is over now and in a bittersweet way I’m happy for him.

I went through his computer last week and found the last .doc he typed.

Hello my name is Nathan Willis I am a 32 year old male with 2 years under my belt of being paraplegic. I have recently discovered that I Love life. I love my Family I love my church. I Love my Dad.

After the hell of his accident at work and his becoming paralyzed 2 years ago he had just started being able to see life as worth living.

Thanks for listening folks - I’m going to my hiding place for a while.

Take your time Tommy and do what you’ve got to do. Words can’t express what you must be going through.

God bless you and your family.

Craig

Poppa Willis, I don’t know you, and you don’t know me. Nor do I know what it’s like to lose a child; but those moments of my life where it’s nearly happened, or I’ve feared that it might have happened, the terror still lives with me.

I’ve no words of sympathy to offer you, nothing to make anything better, I don’t even have any prayers to give; but my heart breaks for you Poppa, as I know the hearts of the other parents on here do too.

All we can do is listen, and share. It’s not much, but it’s done with all that we have to give.

All of our thoughts and prayers are with you Tommy.

Anything we can do for you, Tommy, just give us the word.

Hi Tommy,

Take your time bud. You know I have been and will continue to pray for you and your family. I know this has to be a very, very tough time. Hang in there and we’ll see you when we see you.

God Bless…

D

Tommy,

So sorry my friend. I don’t have any fine words to say. I just know that anyone who knows you has been better for the experience. You of all people don’t deserve what you’ve been through but, as always, you will come through to the other side and be back.
Lots of friends here if you ever need them Tommy. Take Care and God Bless.
Ian

Hate to hear it, Tommy, but I know with the Lord’s help you’ll pull through just fine. I lost a daughter a few years back to Cystic Fibrosis. She died two months shy of her twentieth birthday. Wish I had some great wisdom to share, but I don’t. It does make you appreciate those that you still have. Love ya, brother.

Hi Poppa Willis:

Tears of Sorrow goes out from me in Cole Harbour to You and Your Family…

It’s a sad story to post to the n-Track Forum and Board Members… I am sure We all shoulder your Pain-and-Loss at this time…

You know, when you’re Called You Go…
We all are travelling along this road…
not knowing what is around the turn…
or…
how long the trip may take us to complete…
or just where or what is at the end of the road…

We Just Do It…

Bill…

Sent my condolences to Tommy privately on 8-19.
but again - You and your family are in my prayers.
…why fortune smiles on some, and let’s the others be…

Thanks for the notes folks. It was an awesome funeral. We had Third Day crankin’ on the church system. What a send off. If you don’t know Third Day’s stuff check out Tunnel - It was Nathan’s fav and most played tune in his iTunes. YouTube - Tunnel

I shouldn’t be smiling Poppa…but I am.

That’s the best thing I heard this week. We sent a good friend of mine off a couple of years ago to the strains of ‘Freddie and The Dreamers…You were meant for me’ , made me smile at his funeral and remember what a great fun guy he was.

Take care my friend,
Ian

Third Day and their ilk are kind of what got me back into playing music at church. Before then, about ten years previous at the church we attended, there were very few modern songs. The rest were from the old Pathway Press “Red Back” hymnal. Guys like Third Day came along and gave me a little hope that the Christian music scene was changing! FINALLY!

Now we do stuff with big drums, big guitars and such in styles that range from country pop to near metal and everywhere in between. It’s all good.

“Tunnel” is a cool tune. Good to see you around PW. Take it easy now, ya’ heah?

D

I hear ya Bruffie - I believe funerals should be celebrations of the life lived.

D - Lets face it - most Christian music sux… the writing has been lame for years, the production value has been lower than most country stuff, but folks have finally quit giving Christian “acts” a pass on that. Thank God! Literally!
Artists like Third Day are growing in number, I for one say, "It’s about time!"

Thanks for the welcome back…

PW…words can’t really convey my sympathy.

Hang in there.

cliff

Thanks Cliff - 'preciate that.

Welcome back, Poppa.

(that’s a great song, but I still like all the old hymns!)

Thanx T - yep some of the oldies still gimme a rise too.
