When I was young (in 19**) washing day was a wonderful thing.
Mother would boil a huge copper pan of water and soap flakes and the warmth of the steam and smell of the soap is very evocative for those of us who are d’un certaine ages

The traditional way to cook a Christmas Pudding is to steam it, wrapped in a muslin cloth (the pudding, that is…)
I think my Mother used to start cooking it around Easter time :D

Hi Steve, yeah I guess you are right. I’ve always been able to twist a knob and jump into a hot bath. Spoiled I guess… I suppose my birth in 19** must have come several years AFTER your 19** birth. :D

However this thing shakes out it IS going to boil down to BAD intelligence services performance. If they had this information and knew Dub was steering us into war, WHY sit on it? My mother-in-law, rest her, made a cracking paella. Everything she cooked was wonderful. I reckon she could have stewed an old pair of boots and made a tasty meal :p

“Pax Americana”… Amercian Peace. Would we better off with say… Pax Iran?

I skimmed the second one before. (I thought it looked familiar.) While it may be a little over the top in places… all it’s saying is we need to act to maintain the status of the US in the global scheme of things. What… we should dismantle the military and roll over and play dead? I don’t think so.
