A bit of Celtic rock
The basic tune for this was borrowed from a Celtic instrumental I heard.I wrote the words based on some ideas of 14th century Scots rushing home to defend the homeland from the marauding English.
Apologies for the vocals, I haven’t quite made up my mind how to sing it yet. Any comments on how to improve the vox would be great or any comments on the mix.
If anyone wants to volunteer to be a Scottish Warrior and help me flesh out the one-line chorus, all assistance will be greatly appreciated
The song is called 'Marching Home’
Marching Home
All the vocal needs is for you to smoke a pack of camels and have a shot of Southern comfort after each one.
Rough up the vocal! I’m 2:30 into it - You sure can color a mix man - love the key ear candy!
I bought a plug in a while back that will give you 10,000 screamin’ scots if you want 'em.
Send me a wav of we’re marching home lead voc only, what is that 5 seconds worth?
Great “I’m at it again” showpiece ya jerk!

“WE’RE MARCHING HOME!” Yeah, I can do that, as long as you blend it well into the background. Love this song, Bruf.
Well Ian… after all these years, you pretty much know my taste in music so you also know I gotta give this
Great job!

Well volunteered Kev! Don't know 'bout the blending into the background, I was hoping to do that myself

Going to work now, will send you something later. Wouldn't that just make 10,000 Bruffies on the chorus?
Send a snip and let’s try it anyway.
Right it needs more of a commanding voice for that type of message.
Maybe you could let Punky sing it.
That would work.
And you take some of the other vocal parts.
Or mix and match.
I mean your vocals are excellent, just isn’t the right pitch for that role.
Maybe you could get Joe Cocker, send him a demo.
Or give Poppa Footballs the midi marcher a try.
He could get it for ya if he didn’t cut out during the middle of the song.
Poppa Footballs

Thought that was pretty descriptive, you’ve got a big voice there Mr.
And sure here’s to JD!
I would like to learn to make wine to!

This signiture of yours is awsome!

Bruffie,
Great lyrics, structure, and mix. Yep I can see the Highlander or BraveHeart running around kilt flappin in the wind.
The beginning of the guitar lead, I think it is guitar, is lost in the mix from 2:29 until about 2:39.
Another great song from the exceptionally talented people in this forum!

Thanks Duff, I have to tweak things and have to completely re-do the vocals, but getting there.
cheers,
Ian
Oohh, i like your new avatar, the lyrics to this song are awesome and I love the importance of the track…I guess what i mean is that the moment it started to play, i felt that i should stop, listen and take in every word. Your vocals fit the mood well and I think that ‘mid section’ (and end) is excellent, a real contrast adding depth.
Great job

…what she said.
Great work there Ian mate!
Excellent production. Love the break at 3.00.
Och eye the noooooooo…aaarrrgghhh…
.
Ange/Craig,
Thanks Guys! Actually, I’m acutely aware that the vox are weak, but I’m gonna have another crack at it. Hopefully with a few volunteers for the chorus. Also, I’ve got this idea to get a girl to sing the quiet mid-section, kind of asking the menfolk to come home and fight for the land.
Also, haven’t told him yet, but might ask Poppa to mix the vocals from a more distant point of view than mine
