Another one of Bush’s buddies
Evangelical leader earlier denied man’s claim that he paid for sex, drugs
This guy is a liar, an adulterer & a gay (not that being gay is bad mind you but he lied about it), and he uses the evangelicals to do his bidding. He’s also one of Bush’s buddies on the right.
Wake up people!
wake up and do what? this guy has nothing to do with my life. What does he have to do with yours?
Nothing? RIght. So what is your point?
He’s an advisor to Bush - he effects our lives.
Haggard, 50, was appointed president of the evangelicals association in March 2003. He has participated in conservative Christian leaders’ conference calls with White House staffers and lobbied members of Congress last year on U.S. Supreme Court appointees after Sandra Day O’Connor announced her retirement.
Where does it say he is an “advisor?”
Ho hum…

“He’s helped to build up the organization,” said John Green, senior fellow at the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. “He’s also taken risks.” … His position with the evangelical association was influential; Haggard has participated in conference calls with White House staffers and has lobbied Congress for conservative U.S. Supreme Court justices. But the association is too decentralized for the kind of political organizing Dobson and other evangelical activists lead, Green said. |
yep. He is an evagelical nutjob, we get it. Does that mean anything to anyone here? I doubt it, except that it offends you in some way, shape, or form.
I don’t think he is worth the time we waste…

Exactly…and thus my Ho Hum.

This story is getting better by the minute! Haggard says he bought the drugs but never used them but now they’ve released phone tapes of him asking for “more” of the meth. So why would you want “more” of the stuff if you’ve never used it? The “massage therapist” (my usage) that he was seeing says he got together with him for sex, whoops I mean massage, about once a month for 3 years.
unless the President is suddenly the therapist you speak of, I am not sure how this is problematic for him?
Didn’t mean to imply that it was directly problematic with Bush; however, it’s just part of the whole negative news surrounding Bush & his right-wing/evangelical cronies.
Where I think this might have a “positive” impact is helping to turn CO into a blue state.

Careful Clark...
Matt Drudge may set up a link to your post.
Whether he had any role in influencing things or not, it certainly is yet one more thing that makes Bush look guilty by association in the minds of folks who cannot differentiate between someone like Dobson who has influence, on the one hand, and this fellow on the other.

You’ve never lied, commited adultery?
any married man who has looked at a woman with lust is guilty of adultry
A leader is like any other man, yourself included.
Wake up indeed.
Although I totally disagree with the agendas of parties involved in fundamentalism,
I will not be the one to cast the first stone here.

The laws must sure be different in your state.
I assume if you look in a store window you’re guilty of theft and if you look at someone with anger then you’re guilty of murder.
So how exactly do they monitor and prosecute those criminal acts?
Must be the only people in your state who aren’t behind bars is the blind.
Tha’s Bibical law, gizmo. Jimmy Carter made it famous when he did an interview with Playboy magazine a long time ago.

I try not to commit a deliberate sin. I recognize that I’m going to do it anyhow, because I’m human and I’m tempted. And Christ set some almost impossible standards for us. Christ said, ‘I tell you that anyone who looks on a woman with lust has in his heart already committed adultery’. I’ve looked on a lot of women with lust. I’ve committed adultery in my heart many times. This is something that God recognizes I will do–and I have done it–and God forgives me for it. |
Thanks Phoo. I always did reckon that Carter was 4 aces short of a full deck. His heart was in the right place, just a shame his brain wasn’t.
Anyway Jeremysdemo, the laws that govern me were made by real human beings, not by a possibly mythical dead Jew with no knowledge of sex, women or family life, and who claimed to be guided by a heap big juju spirit.

Actually Jesus was a real human being.
And those laws you say were made by man have there origin somewhere trust me.
Ever heard of the ten commandments?
The point was for mike, giz if you need man to tell you what is right and wrong by making a law for you so be it.
