Hi TomS and All:
I heard you talking a Hockey Topic…
When I looked around there wasn’t one started…
So…
I thought I’d jump in and post this for interest’s sake…
On my way home this afternoon I noticed a gathering of sorts around the entrance to the Village, coming down the strip…
Low-and-Behold the media and a number of politicians had gathered…
The Maintenance Guys have been working sense the snow has gone …
working on a new Village Sign…
Every one today is “Rubber-Necking” as they come home from work…
Here’s what went up this afternoon… In honour of Sid-the-Kid…
It puts a lot of pressure on a twenty year old kid…
Anyway, he looks pretty good when he’s on the ice…

I thought I’d better grab some photos of it before the graffiti artists get hold of it…
20 years old, but he has a very level head. I love watching him play. So much joy. And Ovechkin and company are still in it! This has been a very good year for hockey.
On a barely related note, the Flint Generals just lost game 3 in overtime, so they are down 2-1 to Port Huron Ice Hawks in the first round of the mighty IHL playoffs. We’ll be there for game 4. If I had the capability, I’d post you updates from the game.

Well, Ovechkin couldn’t pull it out for his team. So it’s the Pens and the Rangers. Philly and Montreal, Detroit and the Avs, and Dallas and San Jose in the next round. Any predicitons? Other than the certainty that the Avs will be gone in 4 more games?
We’re off to see our hometown heros the Flint Generals in game 4 of their first round tonight.

I agree with you TomS…
What I saw in that Ottawa Series is…
He doesn’t seem to Hogg the Puck-and-Play with the players that he is fitting in on the lines as he is coming off this ankle injury that he took…
It looked to me as he wasn’t able to find a place in the line-up and on the bench as he returned… But… All that has improved now that they are into Play-off Mode…
That team-and bench looks pretty balanced, to me…
That is, if they all stay healthy and don’t get injured…
They look as if they are gonna be a tough team to beat… I guess most of the Areas are sell-outs, so I hear… Detroit and Pittsburg would be a nice series to see…
We’ll see…
I couldn’t stand to watch Calgary get plowed into the ice last night…
It was not a good call on part of the Coach, to replace the Goalies…
It changed the outcome of the game…
BUT… I think the Better Team won…
Cam Russell has done a fantastic job with the Halifax Mooseheads.
The Moose has gone on to the second round in the “Q” League Play-offs.
They beat the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in (I think) four straight…
AND The fans didn’t break any store windows-or-burn any Cop Cars…

However, the Moose aren’t doing so well in the second round…
I’m even sure who they are playing…
Halifax and Quebec City are preparing for the IIHF World Champions …
The Series starts on May 2nd…

The Ticket Sales aren’t doing so well here…
You see the Final Game is gonna be held in Quebec City…
Sharing Halifax and Quebec City for the Series may not have been a good call for the organizers…

It’s too bad… I don’t get out to see and local hockey… I only get to see/hear what is reported in the media…
Now… if they could only get to organize a Pro Soccer Team for here… That would be different…
I looked through all the Drives I have around here… I don’t see ONE Project amongst them that was done using my Computers and n-Track… AND… My Creative Daze have all but vanished…

I had to leave before I finished my predictions on the next round for Montreal.
Unless they wake up and start playing serious hockey, they ain’t gonna go beyond the next round.
We will only see how the Hab’s Fans will react to that…
I didn’t see any of the Philly’s First-round Series.
Hockey Night In Canada only showed some Hi-Lites… I thought I’d have my dish up-and-aimed…
Well, not to be…
Actually, I have two dishes ready to be aimed. One is a One Meter Dish and the other is a 20" dish with two LNB’s attached to it.
I’d like to be able to see more than CBC Hockey Night In Canada…
I was talking to a guy that aims them… But he’s quite busy doing installations for the Olympics…
There’s more to it to set this KU Band stuff up…
My knowledge of navigation leaves something to be desired when it comes to KU Band hardware… I hope to get it up and working before the Olympics…

Finals prediction: Detroit vs. Pens, series goes to 7. One team or the other wins.

International Hockey seems to be picking up around here…

Nah… just joking fellers… It’s a fabulous sport and seems to not be as “commercialized” as other sports in the USA. NBA? Pfffttt! A buncha hooligans that wouldn’t know great basketball if it rained from the heavens. Baseball? ONE guy worth 30 MILLION (or more)? I don’t think so… NFL? Same as basketball but oblong and brownish in color.
We should take all the money blown on professional and college sports and spend it on alternative energy research or how about we FEED a dozen or so third world countries?
