Way to go Edmonton Oilers

AAARRRRRRGGGGGGG, Carolina fails to close out series last night. 7th game coming up in Raliegh!

GO CANES! :D

go Canes…to the golf course! :)

Sabres are still a better team, even with all the injuries.

I think this series is great for the NHL… At least for the team’s owners and the players, as well… IT would be tough for the Canes and their fans if Buffalo wins this series… I would put money on the Canes winning this series and then loosing the Stanley Cup to Edmonton… We’ll see…

If the Canes win they’ll be takeing a lot of momentium to the final series…

Bill…

Bil Bill Bill Bill…Buffalo is an honorary Candian town. You can’t seriously pull for Carolina. You are not allowed. Buffalo vs. Edmonton would be fabulous!

And what if Edmonton did win? Has an 8th seed ever won? Talk about parity in the league! Great season, even if Detroit went down wayyyyyy to early.

I KkNnOoWw Tom:
That’s poor ediquit <<< ?? … of me to support the Canes… I was a supporter of Buffalo when Scottie Bowman was behind their Bench… I’m sure Scottie, is there somewhere… yet… However, I’m not sure of that… My young fellow “Skated” with Cam Russell of the Hawkes organization and … I forget the “Goalie’s” name of the Saber’s organization…

They played minor hockey together from Novice through to Bantom age…

Anyway, Buffalo had a series of Goalie injuries and , Scottie called up Our young goalie to cover a “Home” game Buffalo was playing, with the Leafs… I believe. I scanned the belt but I couldn’t find the “Game” up there, that night…

Tom… Thinking back when my kids were growing up… What oppertunities that had… playing with some of the greatest names in Hockey these parts produced… during that time… These famlies were so commited… and still are to the Sport… What great parents they are… getting their kids out to the Hockey Rinks and the Soccer Fields… and whatever sports their kids play…

Bill…

My mom was a “hockey mom” - those early games must have been killers - lots of my friends played college, but I ended up not doing that - deep deep regrets ever since…

Scotty Bowman still lives in the Buffalo area - almost everyone who played for Buffalo or was in the organization at some point ends up retiring there - I would too, very nice town.

Sabres goaltender from back then? Don Edwards? Bob Sauve? There was a pair; played under Bowman, shared the Vezina 2 years in a row. Hmm Other goaltenders from Buffalo - Barraso? Puppa played for them for a while - nothing better than hearing Rick Jeanerette call a game with Puppa, Smelik, and Zhitnik. Grant Fuhr was there after edmonton. No one else comes to mind until Hasek, the greatest goaltender ever. :)

But, dang, Miller is good. So is Biron, in fact.

I remember the family name. I can’t think of the kids first name, though… Dad was a fireman… Hard worker. Anyway, He played in the minor leages for the Buffalo Organization… He didn’t get much above that level… Beals was the family name… If only his first name would come to me… I can still remember those days… We couldn’t get ice time whenever we wanted IT… So, we used to load up the cars with kids and gear and go 50-60 miles outta town to find ice time… We could get ice time for for 60-75 bucks an hour back then… Now ice goes for anywhere above 175.00 an hour now…

I played in the Bars 7 nights a week back then… and I had a day-time job, as well… I remember not going to bed after getting home from playing… If I went to bed I wouldn’t be able to get up to go to the “BARN”…

If I think back about those times, I find it difficult to think about where all that energy came from… When you’re young you think can go 29 hours a day…

Hey, we got two sheets of ice in the local rink now… and we still can’t get any ice when we want IT… Back then, I used to like early morning ice, when we could get IT… The parking was easier at 5 am. better and closer parking to the enterance, at that hour… 7 am ice… your had to park so far away from the doors…

Bill…

Look now…See the reason I’m pulling for Buffalo has nothing to do with the fact it’s a Candian freindly city…Their defence is totally beat to rat sh*t right now…I think Edmonton could take them in 6 games. Carolina scares the living crap out of me. I predicted they would make the finals …they will. I just hope they are as banged up as Buffalo if they end up winning. Check the living crap out of them …that’s the way to win. Make every hit hurt.

If Edmonton ends up playing Buffalo they will take them out garanteed. They’ll do just like they did to San Jose pressure the defence.

Don’t count out the Buffalo replacements - Vanek and Jilson are decent players. Numinen may well be back as well. Even without the regular defense, Buffalo has outplayed Carolina in every period of the series but 2. Only thing that has kept Carolina in it is Ward. He is #### good.

Told ya so!!!

Next prediction, “Suami say Oilers in 7”

No superstars on the young Carolina team, just a lot of hustle and guts!

CAROLINA HURRICANES, EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPS!

Ironically yesterday was June 1st, the start of the hurricane season, Canes win game 7, an omen for Edmonton? Oh Yes! This could be the 1st ever national pro sports title brought to Carolina! Am glad meself it’s hockey and not basketball or football! :D

Sorry Tom:
Too bad, for the Sabres… Better luck next season… The Stanley Cup Series should be interesting, though… You’re right, No STARS on any of these teams… Well… We’ll see… The team that’s gonna win is the team that “Want’s IT the Most”… The way IT should be… A strong bench makes for good Hockey… Edmonton is so far away from me… I can’t imagine living way out there… I can tell ya One Thing… Their fans are so immature… There’s gonna be people injured out there if Edmonton takes the Stanley Cup… A couple of Bad Apples spoils IT for everybody… They’re gonna have to identify the Apples and “Step-on-Their-Toes”…

Bill…

Bill,

I just saw a clip on the news, I guess the cops have all of white street covered with cameras. they have mug shots of all the hockey hooligans on a website and apparently they’ve already charged a number of them.

it still will be a haywire nite when Edmonton wins the cup

Yea:
I can see a few beers and some fire crackers and stink bombs and all… But overturned cars and store front damage is not what I call enjoying the “WIN”…

IT’s gonna be interesting to see how the Oilers come out on the first game… You see, they’ve been OFF now for a number of nights…

Let’s hope the “Stupid” Team will be all Skate’d OUT…

Sorry all you Southern’ers… Whatta they know about the Game… ?? Anyway? :O :p  I’m Talk’in about the FANS… :O ???

Put some lube on your roller-blades… Yer gonna need IT…

Bill…

Wow! What a blow below the belt Bill! What do southerners know about the game! Like me saying Nascar shouldn’t be ran in Michigan, Dover, California and Texas. Keep the sport in the south where it started? Nahhh, sports are for everyone to enjoy, look at the Jamaican Bobsled Team! :D

I was hopeing you’d reply… Just looking for “hooligan” Partisipation… I’m a Nascar Fan… We like our CcAaRrrrrSs over here too… But ya gotta take in a race weekend down where you guys live, to soak up the RACE Hype… I should’da waited to see how Tom S replied to get his take on that post… That’s how serious Soccer “Hooliganism” takes over in the UK, with their Fan Support of the teams they like… IT gets pretty serious over there… so I’m told… I’m hearing that they keep fans seperated in the stands with wire fences…

And Rugby, is another Killer Sport…

Bill…

NASCAR is HUGE in mighican. That said, now that the Sabres are out, the CUp belongs in Canada! Go Edmonton! :)

Carolina only won 'cause Buffalo was down so many key players…

Anyway, this has been one great season, and I fully expect the cup series to go 7 and be fantastic. Two great teams at the top of their games… but goaltending will win this for Edmonton.

I’ve been wrong in every prediction about this season so far, so I gotta be right about this one! :D

You know… I was unable to see the Buffalo / Canes final game here… IT was carried on a “Sports Cable” channel… I was under the impression that the CBC was the official Hockey network up here… If the CBC looses the broadcast of Hockey, that is gonna make a competitive situation for the Purchasing of NHL games that are carried… If I remember correctly, the CBC always carried Play-off NHL Games… That being what may be the case, if I don’t have cable, I may not see NHL Stanley Cup Hockey, unless they are carried by non-cable broadcasts… Cable or a dish may be the only way to see Hockey… in the near future…

Bill…

Game was blacked out here, can only see Canes when playing away. Bummer. :(

Blacked out? Wasn’t it a sell-out? Stupid to black out a sell out.
