Hi Bill. Re-save as .npk
Hi Again Gents:
I hear you loud-and-clear,jeremysdemo…
Do you know how much those transformers cost ?
I DO…
Toooo
much…
I went to price those Hammond 800 series that I have used way back when…
In the '60’s they could be had for some 15-20 bucks then…
Today, they run about 70.0-80.00 less taxes…
Our Provincial and Federal taxes run at 15%…
I ain’t gonna pay some 90.00 for them…
Sorry…
It’s a matter of principal…
The ones I have (2) right now are MODE brand name…
part # 06-606-0600 ohm 1 - 1 ratio 600 ohm will do just fine, in my opinion, so far…
I have 6 more ordered… they are 5.08 a-piece…
I think I should have ordered a dozen…
Just to have them on-hand…
[edit] In fact I’m gonna google them to see just what quality, they are…
Hi TonyR…
It has become a pestering issue…
I will try saving the file as .npk…
Do I need to associate the .npk file to the name of the song/saved file ?
The computer I have on the DJ Desk is an old P-4 with XP Home installed on it…
The main studio machine is an E-5200 Dual processor with Vista Home Premium, installed on it…
I think I’d be doing myself a big favor if I upgraded that DJ Desk machine to an identical machine…
Anyway, I found a workaround for the issue…
I’ll update the photo blog that shows that NPK file on the DJ Desk machine…
My patience-and-nerves…
I think I’m a wreck…
today…
I may have sniffed too much solder and resin, today…
Bill…
Bill…
Back Again:
I found them…
#60-606-0
They are not very FLAT at operating current…
However, at the levels I’ll be using them, they’ll do just fine…
I haven’t done the arithmetic yet… But I don’t think I’ll be burning 160 ma’s of current through them…
Bill…
BZZZZ!!!
Einstein regarded Tesla as a genius.
Tesla thought Einstein was quite clever.
There is a reason they cost more.
Anywho they can be had cheaper you just have to shop around, I know you are in the big C so you do not have all the options available we have down here.
Tony, RESONATOR!!!

Mu-metal core and winding-and-turns accuracy, along with inductance shielding, magnetic shielding and their ability to reject core saturation…
There’s this audio forum/message board where some heavy duty engineers hang out…
One guy has this studio somewhere in downtown Manhattan…
He says if he needs parts, he gets on his bike and drives down the street and within ten minutes he can get any part(s) he needs…
resistors, caps, transistors, tubes…
No substitutes…
the real thing…
Sorta like electronics heaven…
?
Well…
The other week I went looking for some A3M and A3F connectors and was told that they didn’t have them in stock…
But…
he could order them…
Bill…
p.s. I could walk down to the end of the street and within 10 minutes I could get a bag of weed with no trouble… hehe…
Bill..
p.s.

Might be safer than that solder and resin you had going...

Watched a pair of Jensens go on fleebay the other day for $35.
They were already wired into break out boxes with XLR and 1/4 ins but they did not have the ground connected or a lift switch.
Still for the parts alone it would have been worth it to snag them.
You’d be surprised what you can get on there parts wise if you know what you are looking for and have the time to watch stuff, many of them will ship to the big C if you ask them.
To me it is worth the extra time and effort to have the part that will be the best I can get than one of lesser quality that I could get readily.
I just know how I am, if I settle for less I will be pining for the other one and wondering how much better the sound would have been.
Then again I do not know too much about the engineering aspect of audio so I have to take the word of these “experts” as to what is good or better.

Hi jeremysdemo:
I hear you. so well… They are a cheap version of what I should have…
The primary winding has an electrostatic shield between the primary-and-secondary of the windings…
I’d much prefer to have the electrostatic shield be a center=tap to the primary winding…
Then I could have the studio console end to the isolation box become balanced, as opposed to be unbalanced…
Only time will tell if I will be able to tolerate their behaviour…
At the moment they are better then 60 hz. ground loops…
The other ground loops I need to address is, the 1/4 wave room monitor amp setup…
I need to lift the grounds to the Yamaha P-2500 Bass Bin Amp…
A db-or-two, in level, here-and-there, all adds up…
I’ve updated the photo blog to show the transformers installed and working…
The box I have them in will allow for two more transformers, I have on order, for the return loop back from the DJ Desk, to the Studio console…
I have an m-Audio card to install into the DJ Computer… It will replace the Sound Blaster Live Card… That’s the next project on the list…
Anyway, the Spain/Netherlands World Cup Match is soon coming on… I’d like to see the Netherlands take the Cup…
I’m an Underdog Supporter… It would be nice to see them win…
Bill…
p.s.
When you see stuff like that going on fleebay…
send me a smoke signal…
p.s. TWO…
I really think that’s what happened to me when I was at the Musicstop back in the '70’s-and-'80’s…
I’ll tell you a quick story…
I played the bars back then, as well…
Seven nights a week…
(Where did all that energy come from ? ) Anyway, yea had to use the washrooms, between sets, from time-to-time…
Set three-or-four I’d find that I couldn’t feel my face anymore…
I’d slap my face, saying, I couldn’t feel my face…
Everybody knew, but me,
and would laugh their faces off…
I was so GreeN…
hehehe…
Really…
Bill..
p.s.
When you see stuff like that going on fleebay..
send me a smoke signal..

Will do.

Lead, gold, mercury, and platinum are in the same metallic family and their atomic weight is somewhat similar. The boiling/melting point of lead is very low… So, when you breath the vapor it goes into the lungs and attacks the nerve endings and then solidifies… The result is lead poisoning… It affects people differently… The result is the same…
However, it takes longer to happen on some people…
Anyway, the World Cup is all over…
The result was good for the Spanish supporters…
It was good that the game wasn’t decided on penalty kicks…
Bill…
Speaking of breathing vapor…
In my area people are inhaling the THC from Mary Jane in a different way than they did when I was a lad.
Instead of igniting the grass in a pipe, they take the metal off the end of a light bulb, they place the grass in the bottom of the bulb, then slowly heat the glass and inhale the fumes out of it…the pot does not catch fire or smoke, it just smolders in there.
I guess the theory is it does less damage to the lungs since no tar is inhaled.

Boy…
Technology-and-Research just don’t stand still… and it doesn’t have a monopoly on anything…
The little bit that I know about that stuff is…
It grows naturally as a weed…
hence, it’s name…
it’s been around sense time…
It came into it’s own sometime after WWII…
The US Highway/Military Engineers needed shoulder erosion control as the Interstate Highway Grid was being built… It was left to the Hemp Plant to provide that control…
But…
there was no work for the people and kids and they hit the roads in search of a better way of life…
But again, it was known by all the kids about it’s properties…
It was a cheep substitute to tobacco…
The tobacco companies complained to the Feds…
and the weed was deemed illegal…
There may be other stories…
but that is one I heard…
If Levi was here, he might know or have another slant on the idea…
Bill…
The photo blog has been updated…
I got a call from the supplier regarding the isolation transformers I have ordered…
They have arrived…
I picked them up and they have been installed …
I’m in the process of completing the Line Level Isolation In/Out Project…
I’m also working on re-mastering a project that Leonard and I did in the old L&B Studio way back in the early '90’s… It was tracked on the Tascam 38 1/2" tape deck using a Mackie 16-4-2 Mixer…
The project was released on an independent distribution network on cassette…
I’m not so sure that I have any rights to the project…
I’m gonna look into it and possibly post it up on the CookieFinger site…
We’ll see…
Bill…
I’ve taken another series of photos today, to update the photo blog…
Studio Under Construction
The repro system is beginning to settle in and be predictable-and-repeatable…
The Repro System is, next-to-complete…
I’m working on cleaning up the cable runs and I’ll soon be able to get the DJ Desk against the wall…
If anything, the P-4 XP DJ computer could become a bottleneck to the studio operation…
I have a feeling that a Quad-Core Machine is not far from being a reality, for that part of the operation…
Somehow, I’ve fixed the LAN connection between the Studio Vista and DJ XP Machines… They are able to communicate, in both directions…
Still NO-GO between the the Vista House and Studio Machines…
However, the Internet can be opened on all machines…
There appears to be still a “Permissions Issue” with the Vista machine in the house…
?
Bill…
It just looks better and better, Bill!
Well, it happened…
The Matrox G-550 Graphics Card in the P-4 machine failed…
I have the computer all apart… I am surprised that the card has somehow failed…
After replacing the card the machine now boots…
I’ve replaced the card with a single monitor card…
However, it’s not really the card for the application that I intend for that machine…
sigh…
Bill…
Today, It rained…
Thank you, Weather Man…
We had a nice Electrical Storm…
The humidity is acceptable now… and the temperature is way down…
Today, I got productive and rebuilt the DJ Desk P-4 Computer…
I don’t know if it’s gonna help… It’s still a P-4 machine…
I’ve Updated the Photo Blog, Again…
I think some 15 photos went into the blog, today…
I finally got the Hoontech STA 2000 8-Track Audio Hardware loaded-and-working in this XP P-4 Machine…
I have the built-in audio hardware that is in the Main board installed,(the Sound Blaster Live Card has been removed)
the m-Audio 192 Card and the STA 2000 hardware, all up-and-running…
The Matrox G-550 Graphics Card has survived to run another day…
It appears to work great…
I’m running outta real estate on the DJ Desk…
My plan is, to mount the STA 2000 hardware under the shelf where the Radio Shack Stereo Amp is mounted…
I hope to work on that, tomorrow…
We’ll see…
I’d sure like to get that Desk completed and moved against the wall, where it’s intended to go…
Bill…
Wish I had your work ethic, Bill!
Better to have that than nothing to do and go bonkers doing that…
Anyway, it cooled off over night…
I think fall is in the air…
Bill.
p.s.
My TO-DO list is pretty long…
but…
I don’t like working on OR doing the TO-DO List…
