I didn’t sidestep anything. I’ve explained myself completely.

The best you can do is criticize a criticism. Most of the time you either take the criticism out of context or put it out of order so it no longer makes sense. The latest one is this
It’s called an example. You were defensive and negative and you are still being negative and defensive.

As you might remember back to that page, the full phrase went like this

I was trying to point out that your statement brings these words to mind:
misguided egocentric moronic psychosis
Just because negative things come to your mind, doesn’t compel you to print them. Rational people can control themselves.

this was in reference to this statement made by you… <!–QuoteBegin>
Quote
One thing is for sure, the Decider definitely annoys and confounds the Dividers (liberals).
That statement is misguided" mis·guid·ed (ms-gdd) KEY
ADJECTIVE:
Based or acting on error; misled
egocentric:e·go·cen·tric (g-sntrk, g-) KEY
ADJECTIVE:
Holding the view that the ego is the center, object, and norm of all experience.
Confined in attitude or interest to one’s own needs or affairs. Caring only about oneself; selfish.
Moronic: silly, foolish. A statement with no merit.
psychosis: A severe mental disorder, with or without organic damage, characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality and causing deterioration of normal social functioning.
The last one is probably a little over the top… but only a little. So although you may see this as a terrible hit to you personally, I was speaking about your words.
Were you?? It took you 10 pages to deny it when I immediately pointed out that this was a personal attack. I used one word you objected to and that prompted a list like this?? Psychosis might describe the compulsion to demand a list of things you don’t agree with and then to copy and paste dictionary definitions to try to justify being snarky.
Quote (DrGuitar @ April 26 2006,12:32)
Anyway, no one really cares anymore and you have proved the point about Republicans being dividers. You see ksdb, in your effort to duck any possible responsibility for your words, you have made people not care about an important topic.
The topic of this thread was to make fun of Bush with a song about him being the “Decider.” Was that really an important topic to you??
Quote (DrGuitar @ April 26 2006,12:32)
And that is one of the chief ways republican spin doctors work. Spin the question so long and so deeply that people stop caring about problems in the administration.
Again, this has nothing to do with the thread topic.
Quote (DrGuitar @ April 26 2006,12:32)
This in turn leaves everyone feeling angry at each other about nothing getting done except things that help the rich.
Hey everyone, DocG is ranting and his real feelings are coming to the surface. I’ll let him continue …
Quote (DrGuitar @ April 26 2006,12:32)
The rich get richer, the middleclass and poor get poorer and no one is able to stomach the truth of WHY cause they are so tired of being spun.
You said you were “done” on page two. Was that a fib??
But what “error” are you talking about?? If there is an error, it would be on the side of those who can’t and won’t admit that Bush has ever done anything good.
I was speaking of any error - yours, mine, anyone else’s.
We humans - and believe me, I am as guilty of this as anyone here - have a tendency to hold onto prior positions often past the point at which such positions have been discredited in the mistaken belief that abandoning those positions is a sign of weakness. I am asserting that it is not.
That is the perspective I wished to impart. If I have done so poorly, I apologize.
Thank you for the link. Why did you leave out all the points that the DNC Research raised that back up their “negative” comments about Tony Snow?
For a few reasons: first, it would take up a lot of unnecessary space. Second, it doesn’t change the fact that liberals are dividers, but in fact reinforces the notion by showing the great lengths they go to do so. One thing that puzzles me is that the liberals aren’t being consistent in their messages regarding Tony Snow. Media matters is trying to discredit Snow for being a Bush critic. Below are some questions they suggest asking:
<!–QuoteBegin>
Quote
Do you still think President Bush is a “wimp” and looks “impotent” for not “veto[ing] a single bill of any type”?
Could you elaborate on the “leaden phrases” and the “unbearably abstract and dull” portions of Bush’s “Social Security sales pitch” that made it “stink”?
With the failure of Harriet Miers’ Supreme Court nomination, do you consider Bush’s presidency effectively over?
Do you still believe that Republicans nationwide “behave like reckless heirs to someone else’s fortune”?
Would you still argue that the Republican Party is “packed with cowards”? Or that the president’s “compassionate conservatism” is “a slogan that exceeded skeptics’ worst expectations”? Or that Bush “lack[ed] not only conviction, but vision” when he signed McCain-Feingold? If not, what has caused you to change your mind, aside from having accepted this job?
So will it be “more of the same” or will Snow refuse to toe the line??

I’m not going to hunt for things that may or may not prove your point for you. How about showing where the stuff the RNC released has been picked up by a media outlet, such as Yahoo News??

Mike,
I feel obliged to voice that ksdb’s point on this is valid. You asked for a link and he provided it. It isn’t reasonable to then ask him to research material on your behalf.
Fair is fair, after all - you asked; he delivered. The ball is now in your court.
Please forgive me acting as some sort of ersatz referee - I just calls 'em as I sees 'em.

I feel obliged to point out that KSDB complains about taking lines out of his posts and therefore out of context in his arguments. By posting only the juice parts that support his contension without posting the entirety is to be guilty of the very thing he complains about.

Now let’s be honest KF, there’s a big difference between cherrypicking noncontextual phrases out of each other’s sentences and pulling a complete quote out of a press release. The rest of the press release did not justify the divisive nature of the comments made in that quote.

Too funny! If liberals are dividers, then Richard Nixon was not a crook.

Now I disagree with this statement completely. The rest of the press did indeed justify what was said, which is why I asked why you didn’t include it.
No - you’re got it backwards my friend. Liberals are uniters that have been put on the defense by the right-wing attack machine. The Republicans have always been a divisive party and they managed to capitalize on the divisions in this country that claim already existed.
Bill - I don’t need to provide links to anything. If you want to see what kind of hate the right spews, goto Ann Coulter’s web site.
Go to the RNC web site & see what they’ve said about Reid (they recently ran an ad against him). FOX news recently called Reid “factually challenged”. If the so-called liberal media said something like that about Bush or Cheney, these guys would be screaming blood.
Go to the Swift Boat for Lies web site & watch their videos.

Okay, Soulman, what part of Karen Finney's comments resulted from being on the defensive?? Was it the part that warned about a "Snow job" or was it the "failed policies" comment??
My comment wasn’t about Finney, it was about the Democrats in general, i.e., I’m acknowledging that we’ve been on the defensive too long and we need to get out of that mode.
I don’t think there was anything wrong with what Karen Finney said about Tony Snow. He’s a right-wing ideologue from FOX news that Bush has chosen to replace McCellan and it does solve any of the problems the administration is having. In fact, it looks like Snow is an Evangelical so he’ll fit right in. Goto TownHall.com if you want to see some of Snow’s writing.
“Harry Reid is not an honest broker in this debate and has proven he will manipulate the issue at any cost,” RNC spokesman Danny Diaz said. He would not disclose how much the group spent on the radio campaign.
The 60-second spot says in Spanish that Reid “blocked our leaders from working together” and blames Democrats for legislation that passed the Republican-controlled House that would make illegal immigrants subject to felony charges.
“Reid’s Democrat allies voted to treat millions of hardworking immigrants as felons,” the ad says, “while President Bush and Republican leaders work for legislation that will protect our borders and honor our immigrants.”
Besides being a down-right lie, because Reid didn’t stop the immigration bill, this is totally inaccurate of Reid’s position.
The RNC is trying to attack Reid just like they did with Dashule. Look at the politics of personal destruction:

What does Reid’s condo have to do with anything. Everything in DC is expensive. Why don’t they list how much Republican condo’s cost?
My comment wasn’t about Finney, it was about the Democrats in general, i.e., I’m acknowledging that we’ve been on the defensive too long and we need to get out of that mode.
The Finney quote shows that liberals are already “out of that mode.” I seriously doubt that this is the first time liberals have resorted to smear.

The fact that you willfully lump the “Evangelical” label on Snow further proves my point about liberals being dividers. Why is it necessary to categorize people if not for purposes of being divisive?? Second, I already showed you that MediaMatters thinks that Snow won’t fit in because he has been a vocal critic of Bush. This actually shows that Snow is a fair guy and not just a “lockstep” Republican (another divisive phrase that is casually thrown about by liberals).
“Harry Reid is not an honest broker in this debate and has proven he will manipulate the issue at any cost,” RNC spokesman Danny Diaz said. He would not disclose how much the group spent on the radio campaign.
This is equivalent to the DNC using smear terms like “Snow job” and "failed policies???"

Hold on, una momento por favor. If I’m understanding correctly, Chairman Sensenbrenner introduced an amendment designed to reduce the original Republican bill’s penalty from a felony to a misdemeanor. Sensenbrenner made a public statement about this at the end of March.
"Second, it is currently a crime to enter the U.S. illegally. Criminal prosecutions for this offense, while not frequent, are focused on the most egregious cases. However, unlawful presence, or residing here illegally, is not currently a crime in the U.S., as it is in Mexico and many other countries. The House bill would make unlawful presence a crime instead of a civil immigration offense, as it is currently. Due largely to overwhelming Democratic support, the House bill makes unlawful presence a felony, after rejecting my amendment to lower unlawful presence to a misdemeanor. While I was disappointed in this cynical maneuver taken by my Democratic colleagues, I remain committed to making unlawful presence a misdemeanor and producing a strong bill that will prevent illegal immigration and bolster control of our borders in an effective and compassionate way."
The vote failed. While Republicans were split at 156 to reduce the penalty and 65 voted to leave it as is, Democrats, however, only voted 8 for the reduction and 191 against it. Obviously, they were trying to leave Republicans out to hang on this, even though there was a sincere attempt to correct the bill.
Maybe Harry Reid IS playing politics and the Las Vegas Sun is a willing dupe. Either Democrats don’t care about stopping illegal immigration and/or they don’t want to cooperate with Republicans. Both situations look extremely divisive.
The RNC is trying to attack Reid just like they did with Dashule. Look at the politics of personal destruction:

I’ll admit, that looks pretty fishy, but it’s typical for liberals to exploit class warfare arguments against Republicans. This might be a subtle form of payback. Second, you earlier made it sound like it was okay to do stuff like this if you’re being defensive. Maybe this is part of the reason why:

Reid Calls Bush ‘A Loser,’ Then Apologizes Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid Calls Bush ‘A Loser,’ Apologizes to White House Official By CHRISTINA ALMEIDA The Associated Press LAS VEGAS - Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid called President Bush “a loser” during a civics discussion with a group of teenagers at a high school on Friday.
“The man’s father is a wonderful human being,” Reid, D-Nev., told students at Del Sol High School when asked about the president’s policies. "I think this guy is a loser."
Reid’s name-calling incident in front a group of teenagers fits my theory about liberals being dividers. I can see why Republicans would take a strong stance against him.
You bet - the Democrat’s are finally starting to FIGHT BACK!!!
Too funny - since when have you believed anything from Media Matters? Media Matters is trying to point out the hypocrisy of the Snow appointment. Here’s what Media Matters really thinks about Snow - Even more Tony Snow falsehoods.
Seriously ksdb - this is all just politics. But for you to say that the Democrat’s engage in smear more than the Republicans, or that we are dividers, is just plain stupid. Read Ann Coulter or listen to Rush. Read about what Rove does in campaigns. Look at what they did to McCain in 2000.
That Reid attack paper is unprecendented IMO.
Look at what they did the Valerie Wilson. By the way, your buddy Rove was investigated again today. I wonder why?

I didn’t say I believe Media Matters, just that their attack is not aligned with the DNC. It may be completely different tomorrow. We’ll have to check and see. If it changes overnight, then that would be pretty compelling evidence that those entities are in bed with each other.

Be honest. Let’s go back to the 1980s when the liberals constantly called Reagan a warmonger, that he was senile and that he was making people homeless (they were called bums and hobos before Reagan). The liberals still use the same class warfare/rich for the richer arguments (more divisiness) that they used then. Ann Coulter is kind of head case; Rush is pretty mellow. I wouldn’t call what he does divisive because he does so much that is tongue-in-cheek. The McCain thing is overblown IMO. His mouth and bad temperment got him into more trouble than anything else.

Valerie Wilson was a result of an out-of-control husband who had no business working for the CIA. Joe Wilson did more to make sure his wife’s name was known than Karl Rove or Scooter Libby put together. Fitz is obviously fishing with Rove again because so far he has nothing.
Reagan was suffering from the beginnings of senility in the last few years, everyone knows that, and his policies did put a huge number of mentally ill people out on the street. This Bush is a warmonger, and makes Reagan look quite peaceful, really.
Man, you guys sure can move a thread along quickly!
